Early Diagnostics
Pacific Edge has developed a multi-gene test for the diagnosis of bladder cancer that requires only a small volume of urine. The test, uRNA®, is currently in clinical trial in New Zealand and is aimed at early disease detection in people presenting with urological symptoms, high risk groups such as firemen, commercial drivers and smokers, and patients who are under surveillance for disease recurrence.
Population screening
Pacific Edge is in the late stage of developing a multiplex serum test for the early detection of stomach cancer. The test uses antibodies against up to five proteins that are secreted from stomach tumours into the bloodstream.
Screening of at-risk groups
Pacific Edge Biotechnology’s new bladder diagnostic and monitoring tool is currently in clinical trial in ten centres in New Zealand. This tool shows significant promise to be used for screening at “risk groups” such as fire fighters, truck drivers and hairdressers.
Prognostics
Pacific Edge has developed a prognostic test that accurately predicts the progression of colorectal cancer.
